A Teenage girl growing up in Newry during the Troubles
This note is to say, Bronagh, remember yourself as a girl. Don't ever forget these times. Maybe in years to come when you're reading this there will be no troubles. Your children (P. God you will have them) may not understand (P. God!)
Try to remember writing this. Right now it's raining & the time is 12.06. You always were one for going to bed late. You're in your own room at the top of the house. I wonder are you reading this in that same house. I will never be the same again but at least I'll be me.
As you read this you may be grown-up, even married. Remember your youth.
