Folk songwriting programme concludes with showcase of new songs

The Folk Songwriting programme concluded on International Women's Day with a showcase of new songs co-written with facilitators and participants.

Featuring expert direction from facilitators Ríoghnach Connolly, Katie Richardson, Siobhan Brown, Sadhbh O'Sullivan, a group of participants explored the rich tradition of folk songwriting in Ireland during a programme hosted by National Museums NI.

The group collaborated on new songs that explored themes such as womanhood, femininity and friendship, working with each other and facilitators to bring their thoughts to life.

You can watch and listen to the songs below with insights from facilitators and participants.
