'Ordinary People Extraordinary Times' website officially launches

A new website developed from content submitted as part of the Ordinary People, Extraordinary Times community engagement programme has been launched as part of Good Relations Week 2020.

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Times was a three-month online engagement programme encouraging online and offline conversations between families, friends, neighbours, and new groups during the COVID-19 Lockdown. Its aim was to document how we, ordinary people, experienced an extraordinary time.

Led by the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI), it brought together over 50 participants across Northern Ireland and border counties who shared over 800 items with each other, including family heirlooms, letters, and photographs.

Content shared through the programme has been developed into an online exhibition featuring some of the highlights and stories shared such as recipes, family stories, letters and music playlists.
